Nine of Swords
The mind can be a torture chamber of its own design. The Nine of Swords depicts the anguish of 3 AM thoughts—when worry multiplies, when past regrets and future fears crowd out all possibility of rest. The figure sits upright, unable to lie down even in bed; the swords on the wall represent thoughts that feel like weapons. This suffering is real, but it is also optional. The dawn will come. The thoughts will shift. You will not always feel this way.
